CDS Eligibility for Female Hight and Weight : Combined Defense Services (CDS) exam is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Defense training academies recruit cadets through this exam. The academies are the Indian Military Academy (IMA), the Indian Naval Academy (INA), the Indian Air Force Academy (IAFA), and the Officers’ Training Academy (OTA). Out of the above academies, only women are allowed in Officers Training Academy.

CDS Exam Eligibility
For a candidate to be eligible for the CDS exam he or she must fulfil the limits of the following criteria:
- Nationality
- Age limit, sex, and marital status
- Educational qualification
- Physical standards
Let us understand each criterion in detail.
Nationality CDS Eligibility for Female
To be eligible for the CDS exam a candidate must be a citizen of India or the subjects of the following countries are also eligible:
- Bhutan
- Nepal
In addition, a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India is also eligible.
Persons immigrating from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India are eligible provided they have a Certificate of eligibility issued.
Age Limit, Gender and Marital Status
Interested candidates must be unmarried and must be equal to or less than 25 years. The age limit for different academies is:

The upper limit for IAFA is relaxable up to 26 years if the candidate holds a valid current Commercial Pilot License issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), India.
Married candidate above 25 years of age can apply, but no accommodation will be provided to the married couple nor the candidate can live with spouse outside the campus during the training period.

A male divorcee/widower cannot be considered unmarried and is not eligible for the test for IMA/INA/IFA/OTA.
OTA for women who are unmarried widows who have not remarried and divorced divorced women who have divorce documents and are not remarried are eligible.

Educational qualification
A candidate with a valid Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or equivalent is eligible for admission to IMA, INA, IAFA and Officers Training Academy (OTA).
Interested candidates who are in their final year can also apply provided the candidate does not have any backlog in final semester or final year.
Physical standards
As the job profile of CDS exam is to work in Defense. An officer will work in extreme conditions without any mental support. The training will basically prepare the cadets for battle. Thus it is important that the candidate is physically fit to work in such conditions. Body standards are different for women and men.
CDS Physical Qualification for Female
The physical fitness of the candidates is calculated through the Body Mass Index (BMI). The CDS eligibility for female height are:

visual standard for female
- Vision (correct) better eye 6/6, worse eye 6/12
- myopia minus 5.5 d. not more than
- Manifest hypermetropia including astigmatism plus must be less than 3.5 d

Conclusion of CDS Eligibility for Female Hight and weight
From the above criteria, it is to be noted that women are eligible only for Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai and not for any other Defense Academy. Women who are unmarried divorcees, who have divorce documents in hand and who have not remarried are eligible. Unmarried widow women who have not remarried can also apply. Minimum Bachelor’s degree is mandatory. Interested female candidates in final year of degree can also apply. The age limit for unmarried women is 19 years to 25 years.
