About SBI PO Recruitment :-
State Bank of India (SBI) has recently announced 2056 vacancies for Probationary Officer (PO). All those candidates who want to be part of SBI filled their online application form for these posts. Application submission process starts from date 05.10.2021 and held till date 25.10.2021. More details about the recruitment are given below.
About Exam :-
SBI will conduct Phase I from November/December 2021. Selected candidates will be called for Phase II in December 2021. The candidates who will qualify the Mains Exam will be called for Group Exercise and Interview in the month of 2nd/3rd week. February 2022. More details about the exam are given below
State Bank of India will conduct an online written test for the recruitment of Probationary Officer. As the years pass by, the level of competition for the banking exam becomes tougher. Also the pattern is changing. Now aspirants are wandering here and there “What will come in Pre Exam, what is the level of Pre Exam, what type of question will be asked? Selection Process :-
The selection for Probationary Officers will be done through a three tier process:
Phase-I : Preliminary Examination
Phase-II : Main Examination
Phase-III: Group Exercise and Interview

Phase I – Preliminary Examination
SBI PO Exam Pattern :- Preliminary Exam Pattern will be as follows:
The preliminary examination consisting of objective test of 100 marks will be conducted online. The exam will have 3 sections (with different timings for each section) as follows:
- This will be of Qualifying Nature.
- The Exam consists of Total 100 Marks & Consists of 100 Questions.
- There Will be a Negative Marking of 1/4 Marks.

PHASE II – Mains Exam
The main exam will consist of objective test for 200 marks and descriptive test for 50 marks. Both Objective and Descriptive Test will be online. Candidates will have to answer the Descriptive Test by typing on the computer. The descriptive test will be given immediately after the completion of the objective test.

► Online written exam for Probationary Officer will be consisted of 200 marks.
► Total Time Duration of exam is 03:00 hours (180 minutes).
Descriptive Test:- Descriptive Test of 30 minutes consisting of two questions of 50 marks each, Test of English Language (Letter Writing and Essay).
Note :- The descriptive test will be online. Candidates will have to answer the Descriptive Test by typing on the computer. Immediately after the completion of the objective test, the descriptive test will be administered.
Penalty will be levied for wrong answers marked in the objective test. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty for arriving at the correct mark. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate. , there will be no penalty for that question.
Phase-III: Group Exercise and Interview
Candidates qualifying for GE and interview under ‘OBC’ category will have to submit OBC certificate containing ‘Non Creamy Layer’ clause. Candidates who have registered themselves as OBC but do not submit OBC ‘Non Creamy Layer’ certificate and request for interview under general category will not be considered.
Final Selection :-
Marks obtained in Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for preparation of final merit list for selection. Only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), Objective Test and Descriptive Test both will be added to the marks obtained in GE and Interview (Phase-III) for preparation of final merit list. Candidates have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately.
The marks obtained by the candidates in the main examination (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 marks and the candidate’s marks in group exercise and interview (out of 50 marks) out of 25 marks. The final merit list is prepared by combining the converted marks (out of 100) of the main examination and group exercise and interview. Selection will be made from amongst the top qualifying rank candidates in each category.
The results of the candidates who have qualified for the main examination and group exercise and interview as well as the final selection list will be made available on the Bank’s website.
SBI PO Syllabus Pre & Mains Exam 2021
Preliminary Exam:- The level of questions asked from English, Reasoning & Quantitative Aptitude will be easy as compared to Main Exam. The Exam Syllabus is same as Bank Exam or IBPS Exam. As SBI has already announced that 10 times candidates will be called for main exam. So the questions can be asked in Pre exam of SBI Clerk level or at very high level but not like in PO exam.
Main Exam :- SBI PO Main Exam will be as normal as last year PO Exam. The difficulty level will remain high. There will be more time consuming questions. Reasoning will be of high level as soon as you appear in SBI PO exam. So only complete preparation and practice will be required as there will be various posts and lakhs of applicants will apply.
SBI PO Syllabus 2021
Reasoning :- Comprehension Reasoning, Venn Diagram, Number Series, Coding & De-coding, Problem Solving Techniques, Statement & Conclusion Type Questions, Arithmetic Reasoning, Arithmetic Number Series, Non-Verbal Series, Syllogistic Reasoning, Seating Arrangement, Focus on Decision Making , Input and Output, Logical Reasoning. Questions from non verbal reasoning can be asked in the exam.
English Language:- Mainly focus on topics like Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Error, Sentence Correction, Fill in the blanks, Sentence Arrangement/Word Arrangement, Comprehension and Cloze Test may not be any of these mentioned topics etc. Understanding will be long.
DI & Quantitative Aptitude:- Questions will be asked from Simplification, Number Series, Quadratic Equation Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, Profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF LCM, Problem on Age. Bar graph, pictorial graph, pie chart. Data Interpretation is the section to focus on.
General Awareness:- Questions will be asked from Indian Current Events, Banking, General Science, General Knowledge. Mainly the focus will be on national and international news, important dates, current science, technology, sports and culture and banking sector current affairs. Marketing questions will also be in sufficient quantity to test your knowledge. Important topics of SBI PO General Awareness are:

Computer Awareness :- Basics of Computer, Computer Organization, Generation of Computer, Input and Output Devices, Shortcuts and Basic Knowledge MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Memory Orientation, Internet, LAN, WAN, Modem, Computer Abbreviations, Modern day technology. Remember Short Cut Tricks of MS Word, MS Excel and Computer Abbreviations.
Descriptive Test:- This test will be of qualifying type and test of English language. Questions will be asked from Essay Writing, Precise Writing and Letter Writing. For the descriptive exam focus on current news from finance sector, national issues, recent government scheme and editorials of leading English newspapers like The Hindu.
