B.Ed will also be made mandatory in the recruitment of Pravakta in government and non-government aided schools. The churning has intensified at the government level regarding the implementation of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) qualification in secondary school teacher recruitment. In this regard, a high level meeting is going to be held in the government on Wednesday.
NCTE in its notification dated 16 December 2014 had made B.Ed with minimum 50% marks mandatory for the recruitment of spokesperson.
In Kendriya Vidyalayas also, B.Ed qualification is mandatory in PGT (Pravakta ) recruitment. But almost eight years after the release of the NCTE notification, the recruitment of Pravakta (PGTs) in government schools of UP by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission and in secondary schools aided by the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Service Selection Board took place. B.Ed is not mandatory in recruitment. For this, amendments are being made in the rules of both the recruitments. It is worth mentioning that B.Ed in Assistant Teacher (Trained Graduate or LT Grade Recruitment) is an essential qualification.
