SSC CPO SI Job Profile

A candidate selected as a Sub-Inspector (SI) is primarily required to maintain law and order in Delhi by exercising the powers granted by the Government of India. The powers conferred on a police officer are given through the Indian Code of Criminal Procedure.

SSC CPO Salary of SI in Delhi Police

As mentioned earlier, the pay scale of a Sub Inspector in Delhi Police ranges from Level 6 i.e. 35,400 to 1,12,400 per month. The post is eligible for various perks and allowances, some of which are mentioned as follows:

Career growth and Promotions of SI in Delhi Police

The scope of promotion and career growth in the police department is similar to that of other government departments.

• The next promotion is ACP. It will take another 12-15 years.

Salary Structure

The post of a sub-inspector in general duty also carries the same pay scale as SI in Delhi Police and is classified as Group “B” non-gazetted, non-ministerial.

Sub-Inspector in Border Security Force:

• Directly deployed to the border area.
• Protecting the India Pakistan border.
• Prevention of infiltration of refugees and crime rates.

Sub-Inspector in Central Industrial Security Force:

• Responsibility for securing all the PSUs and other important Government infrastructure.

Sub-Inspector in Central Reserve Police Force.

• To control Riots and Naxalites.
• At the time of Natural Calamities, a sub-inspector works on rescue and Relief operations such as Floods, Earthquakes, etc.
• To act against the Militants and Insurgents.

Sub-Inspector in Indo-Tibetan Border Police.

• Protects the border between India & China.
• Preventing illegal Border crossing.
• Intercept activities like smuggling, anti-national activities, and illegal immigration.

The post of an ASI carries a pay scale of Level-5 is classified as a group “C” Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.

SSC CPO Basic Allowances Provided

Transport Allowance (TA)

The candidates selected from the SSC CPO examination are entitled to the transport allowance as per the area of posting:

• City: Rs.3600+DA thereon
• All other places: Rs.1800+DA thereon

Diet allowance/Ration Money

Employees are given diet allowance to cater to their dietary needs for health:

• Delhi Police – Diet allowance of Rs 101.5

CISF – Ration money of Rs 97.85 per head per day

Education Allowance for Children/ Hostel Subsidy

• You will also get CEA (Children Education Allowance) @ Rs.2250/- per month for children studying class Nursery to 12th class.
• Hostel subsidy @ Rs.6750/- per month for children studying in hostel.

Dress Allowance

• Annual allowance of Rs.10,000/- is given in July of every year.
