BSF Head Constable Ministerial Syllabus 2022 ASI Steno Exam Pattern

BSF Head Constable Ministerial Selection Process  :

(a) First Phase
(i) Written Examination

(b) Second Phase
(i) Physical Measurement Test (PST)
(ii) Short Hand Test (only for ASI/Steno)
(iii) Typing Speed Test (only for HC/Min)
(iv) Documentation (Checking of Documents)
(v) Medical Examination

BSF Head Constable Ministerial WRITTENEXAMINATION

Exam Pattern : Exam Pattern for the ASI/Steno & HC/Min written Exam is as Follows :-

• ► The written test will be conducted on the basis of OMR.
• The time duration will be 01:40 hours (100 minutes).
• The written test will be of 100 marks.

The written examination will consist of the following five parts:-

Part-III	Numerical Aptitude	20 Marks
Part-IV	Clerical Aptitude	20 Marks
Part-V	Basic Computer Knowledge	20 Marks

 

• The cut off marks for the written test will be 35% for general and 33% for SC/ST candidates.
• The questions will be set both in Hindi and in English. Candidates will have the option to answer in Hindi or in English.

 

BSF Head Constable Ministerial Exam Syllabus :

Given below is the exam syllabus for ASI Steno & HC (Ministerial) written exam:-

Hindi/English Language: The candidates’ ability to understand correct English, their basic comprehension and writing ability etc. will be tested. Questions will be asked from error recognition, filling in the blanks (using verbs, prepositions, articles etc.), vocabulary, spelling, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, sentence completion, idiomatic use of phrases and words, etc.

General Intelligence: It will consist of questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. Questions will be asked from Similarities, Similarities and Differences, Problem Solving, Relationships, Arithmetic Calculations and other Analytical Functions, Venn Diagrams, Relationship Concepts and Ability to See and Distinguish Patterns, etc.

Numerical Aptitude: Test of Arithmetic and Numerical Ability Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit and Loss, Discount, Simple and Compound Interest, Mensuration , Time & Work, Time & Distance, Table & Graph etc.

Clerical Aptitude: Questions in Clerical Aptitude will be set to test the conceptual accuracy and aptitude of the candidate. It is the ability to notice similarities and differences between pairs of names and numbers. The questions in Clerical Aptitude will assess the ability to handle routine office work like filing, summarization, sequencing etc., apart from perceptual accuracy and aptitude.

Basic Computer Knowledge: Computer Fundamentals, Windows (MS-Windows), MS-Office: Word Processing (MS-Word), Spread Sheet (MS-Excel), Presentation Knowledge (MS-Power Point), MS Access and Internet Services Access is available on the Internet, communication technology, networking concepts.

BSF Head Constable Ministerial PHYSICALMEASUREMENT  (PST)

Physical standards laid down for the post of ASI/Steno & HC/Min are –

BSF HCM SHORTHAND/ TYPING SPEED TEST

Shorthand Speed for ASI/Steno	Shorthand @ 80 words per minute in English OR in Hindi for 10 minutes. Transcription of dictation in English in 50 minutes on computer OR transcription of dictation in Hindi in 65 minutes on computer.
Typing Speed for HC (Min)	Typing @ 35 words per minute in English OR @ 30 words per minute in Hindi corresponding to 10500 KDPH in English/ 9000 KDPH in Hindi with average of 5 key depressions for each word on computer. Time-10minutes
