बिहार शिक्षक भर्ती Syllabus 2023 Instructions
- The written examination for all schoolteachers will be objective and multiple choice (MCQ objective) based. There will be no negative marking for each wrong answer.
- As per resolution memorandum no. 2374, dated 16.07.2007 and letter no. According to No. 6706, dated 01.10.2008, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Bihar, 40% marks will be given to the general category candidates appearing in the written examination, 36.5% marks will be given to the backward class candidates.
- It will be mandatory for extremely backward class candidates to obtain minimum qualifying marks of 34% and for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe, women and physically handicapped candidates, it will be mandatory to obtain minimum qualifying marks of 32%. Otherwise, they will be out of the competitive examination.
- Candidates can select any one subject in which they have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test. If the candidate has passed the Teacher Eligibility Test in one or more subjects, then in that case also the candidate can choose only one subject as per his wish.

BPSC Teacher Exam Scheme 2023
The examination structure and syllabus for the written examination (objective) will be as follows: –

- Language (Qualification) Part-I will be qualifying.

BPSC Teacher Syllabus 2023
1. For middle school teachers under Education Department and primary teachers (trained) under Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class Welfare Department (Class 6-8)
- This letter will be in three parts – Part-I, Part-II and Part-III.
- Part-I – Practical knowledge of English and Hindi/Urdu/Bengali language for Language (Aptitude). At
- least 30 percent qualifying marks should be mandatory in this part.
- Part-II – General Studies includes Elementary Mathematics, Mental Ability Test, General Awareness, General Science, Social Science, Indian National Movement, Geography and Environment.
- Part-III – is a subject paper for middle school teachers. Candidates have to choose any one of these papers:- Mathematics and Science, Social Science, Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit and English.
- Part-III – There is a subject paper for Elementary Teacher (Trained) under Backward Class and Most
- Backward Class Welfare Department. Candidates have to choose one of the following papers:- Mathematics and Science, Social Science and Language (Hindi and English).
The syllabus of the above subject papers will be related to SCERT/NCERT, but its level will be as per the minimum qualification prescribed for the candidate. - The syllabus of General Studies paper will be as per SCERT but its level will be in the light of minimum qualification prescribed for the candidate.
2. For secondary school teachers and special school teachers (class 9 to 10) under the Education Department and for secondary teachers (graduate trained) (class 9-10) under the Backward Class and Most Backward Class Welfare Department.
- This letter will be in three parts – Part-I, Part-II and Part-III.
- Part-I – Language (Qualifying) Practical knowledge of English and Hindi/Urdu/Bengali language This part should have minimum 30% qualifying marks.
- Part-II – is a General Studies paper, the questions of which will be related to the Secondary School syllabus, but its level will be in the light of the minimum qualification prescribed for the candidate. It includes Elementary Mathematics, General Awareness, General Science, Indian National Movement and Geography.
- Part-III – is a subject paper for secondary school teachers under the Education Department. Candidates have to choose one paper from – Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Sanskrit, Arabic, Persian, English, Science, Mathematics, Fine Arts, Dance, Physical Education, Maithili, Music and Social Science.
- Part-III – One subject paper for Special School Teacher (Class 9 to 10) under the Department of Education. Candidates have to choose any one paper from:- Hindi, Bengali, Urdu Sanskrit, Arabic, Persian, English, Science, Mathematics, Fine Arts, Dance, Physical Education, Maithili, Music and Social Science.
- Part-III – There is a subject paper for Secondary Teacher (Graduate Trained) under Backward Class and Most Backward Class Welfare Department. Candidates have to choose one of the following papers:- Hindi, Sanskrit, English, Science, Mathematics, Physical Education, Music/Arts and Computer for Music/Arts subject including Music, Fine Arts, Painting and Choreography. Examination will be taken.
- The syllabus of the question papers of the above subject will be related to Bihar School Examination Board/NCERT, but its level will be in the light of the minimum qualification prescribed for the candidate.
3. For Higher Secondary School Teachers (10+2) (Post Graduate Trained) (PGT) (Class 11-12) and Principals under the Department of Backward Classes and Most Backward Classes Welfare under the Department of Education.
- This Paper will be in three parts – Part-I, Part-II and Part-III
- Part-1 – Language (Qualification) Practical knowledge of English and Hindi/Urdu/Bengali language: Minimum 30% qualifying marks in this part.
- Part-II – is a General Studies paper, the questions of which will be related to the Higher Secondary School syllabus, but its standard will be in the light of the minimum qualification prescribed for the candidate. It includes Elementary Mathematics, General Awareness, General Science, Indian National Movement and Geography.
- Part-III – is a subject paper for Higher Secondary School teachers. Candidates will have to choose one of these papers – Hindi, Urdu, English, Sanskrit, Bengali, Maithili, Magahi, Arabic, Persian, Bhojpuri, Pali, Prakrit, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology. Science, History, Political Science, Geography, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Home Science, Computer Science, Business Studies, Accounting, Music and Entrepreneurship.
- Part-III – There is one subject paper for Higher Secondary Teacher (10+2) (Post Graduate Trained) (PGT) and Headmaster under Backward Class and Most Backward Class Welfare Department. Candidates have to choose any one paper from:- Hindi, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Biology, History, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, Home Science and Accounts.
- The syllabus of the question papers of the above subject will be related to Bihar School Examination Board/NCERT, but its level will be in the light of the minimum qualification prescribed for the candidate.
